Zef Aidan Wolf's

State of Dance

This course will give an even more in depth introduction to each dance, a greater understanding of where they came from and how they developed, and of course more moves to play with.  Dances are broken up by music genre and style of movement.  The progression of the course is dependent on how quickly these dances can be learned with enough skill to enjoy an evening of dancing immediately which for most novices can enjoy all night long with just a one hour class.

  • The First Session will include Latin dances likes Salsa, Mambo, Rumba and Merengue.
  • The Second Session begins with a review of the first and then introduces Cha Cha Cha.
  • The Third Session includes Six Count Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy and Jive.
  • The Fourth Session will be completely focused on the Waltz and if time allows Viennese Walt, a dance favorite of those who love to sail around the floor in elegance.
  • The Fifth Session is all about taking swing and big band music and turning it into the elegance ballroom dance of Foxtrot and Quick Step.
  • The Sixth and final Session brings as all the way back to Latin Dancing in in its most elegant and sophisticated form.  My first teacher simply would not teach the stance to beginners and novices so this is a dance that I simply introduce to you.  There are three styles of tango.  The first one is American style, the second one is international style, and the third one which at one time and would have to prove themselves to be a competent leader and gentlemen by dancing with other men and before he would be allowed to take the floor with a lady is the Argentine tango.

“The most important skill focused on in this class and every class is how to enjoy learning together!”

 Synchronic Dance Program

We are going to put on a Show for You!

We've developed this 90 minute program with the precise focus of kick starting a new student's adventure into the world of social dancing!

We believe each dance has a unique and complicated history and as such has developed its own language.  When one walks out onto a dance floor they are choosing to share in the experience of a culture, which may be very intimidating if you do not know the language or very exciting when you develop the skill you need to acquire, adapt, and engage in festivities.

This workshop will first and foremost introduce you to the basic skills in a way that you can practice on your own, with pure enjoyment, the ability to move yourself, move with another person and dance with the group.

This workshop will introduce you to a wide variety of dances,  the music and style of each,  the dances you can head out and enjoy immediately, the dances that will take a few lessons and practice,  and those that will  take some time to become competent.

Dances covered include:  Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Swing, West Coast Swing, Viennese Waltz, Quick Step, Samba and other surprises as time allows

Most importantly this seminar will help you to decide the kind of music and the style of dance you enjoy most as an individual and/or as a couple and help choose the next step in your own adventure by giving you places to go and people to see to start immediately.
